Biography

Kathy Castor is a Representative from Florida. Born in Miami, FL, in 1966, she earned her B.A. from Emory University in 1988 and her J.D. from Florida State University in 1991.

She was a private practice lawyer and member of the Hillsborough County (FL) board of commissioners from 2002 to 2006. She ran unsuccessfully for election to the Florida state senate in 2000 and was elected to the 110th and to the four succeeding Congresses (January 3, 2007-present).
