Biography

Liz Cheney (daughter of Richard Bruce Cheney) is a Representative from Wyoming. Born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1966, she earned her B.A. from Colorado College in 1988 and her J.D. from University of Chicago Law School in 1996. She was on staff for the United States Agency for International Development from 1989-1992, on staff for the United States Department of State in 1992, worked as a private practice lawyer, a lawyer for the International Finance Corporation from 1999-2002, served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs for the United States Department of State from 2002-2004, was campaign staff for presidential campaign of George W. Bush in 2004, and was the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs for the United States Department of State from 2005-2009. Additionally, she served as a nonprofit executive, television commentator and an unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States Senate in 2014. She was elected as a Republican to the 115th Congress (January 3, 2017-present).
