Benjamin Eric (Ben) Sasse is a Senator from Nebraska. Born in Plainview, NE, in 1972, he earned his B.A. from Harvard University in 1994, his M.A. from St. John’s College in 1998; and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 2004. He has worked as a management consultant; university professor; chief of staff to U.S. Representative Jeff Fortenberry; counselor to the secretary, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; assistant secretary for planning and evaluation, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and president of Midland University. He was elected to the United States Senate in 2014.
