Blanche Lambert Lincoln was a Representative and Senator from Arkansas. Born in Helena, AR, she earned her B.A. from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in 1982. She was staff assistant to Representative William V. Alexander, Jr. from 1982-1984 and elected to the 103rd Congress (January 3, 1993-January 3, 1995) and reelected to the 104th Congress (January 3, 1995-January 3, 1997). She did not run for reelection to the 105th Congress but was elected to the United States Senate in 1998 and reelected in 2004. She served from January 3, 1999, to January 3, 2011. She was chair, Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry (11th Congress). She ran unsuccessfully for reelection in 2010.
