Kirsten Gillibrand is a Senator from New York.Born in Albany, NY, in 1966, she earned his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1988 and her J.D. from the University of California in 1991. She has been a private practice lawyer and special council to the United States Housing and Urban Development. She was elected to the 110th Congress and to the succeeding Congress, and was appointed in 2009 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Sen. Hillary Clinton. She was elected in 2010 in a special election for the term ending January 3, 2013 and reelected in 2012.
