Thomas Alexander Garrett Jr. is a Representative from Virginia. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1972, he earned his B.A. from the University of Richmond in 1994 and his J.D. from the University of Richmond in 2002. He served in the United States Army from 1995-2000, the assistant attorney general of Virginia from 2002-2007, the Louisa County commonwealth attorney from 2008-2012, and a member of the Virginia state senate from 2012-2016. He was elected as a Republican to the 115th Congress (January 3, 2017-present).
