Kyrsten Sinema is a Representative from Arizona. Born in Tucson, AZ, in 1976, she earned her B.A. from Brigham Young University, her M.S. from Arizona State University in 1999, her J.D. from Arizona State University in 2004, and her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 2012. She has been a social worker and private practice lawyer, as well as an adjunct professor.
She ran unsuccessfully for the Arizona state house of representatives in 2002, and served in the Arizona state house of representatives from 2004-2010, and in the Arizona state senate from 2010-2012. She was elected to the 113th and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2013-present).
