Lindsey O. Graham is a Senator from South Carolina. Born in Central, SC, in 1955, he earned his B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1977 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1981. He served in the United States Air Force from 1982-1988, the South Carolina Air National Guard from 1989-1995, and the United States Air Force Reserves from 1995-present. He has been a private practice lawyer and assistant county attorney in Oconee County, SC, from 1988-1992; as well as a city attorney for Central, SC, from 1990-1994. He was a member of the South Carolina state house of representatives from 1992-1994 and elected to the House of Representatives for the 104th and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-January 3, 2003). He was one of the managers appointed by the House of Representatives in 1998 to conduct the impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton. In 2002, he was elected to the U.S. Senate. In 2016, he ran unsuccessfully for the Republican Presidential nomination.
