Sheila Jackson Lee is a Representative from Texas. Born in Queens, N.Y. in 1950, she earned her B.A. from Yale University in 1972 and her J.D. from University of Virginia Law School in 1975. She was a private practice lawyer, staff counsel for the United States House Select Committee on Assassinations from 1977-1978, a member of the Houston, Texas city council from 1990-1994, and a Houston, Texas municipal judge from 1987-1990. She was elected as a Democrat to the 104th and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1995-present).
